Our History
Stellington, Mirewood & Hollencrest was founded in 1987 by three ambitious attorneys: Sarah Stellington, Mark Mirewood, and Henry Hollencrest. United by a shared vision of creating a law firm that prioritized client relationships and ethical practice, they set up their first office in a modest space in Frankfort, IL.
The firm focused primarily on family law and personal injury cases in these early years. Their commitment to justice and client satisfaction quickly garnered them a reputation for excellence in the local community.
Expansion and Diversification: 1996-2005
By the late ’90s, the firm had grown significantly in terms of staff and areas of expertise. Recognizing the changing legal landscape and the diverse needs of their clients, the founders decided to expand the firm’s practice areas to include criminal defense and estate planning.
The New Millennium: 2006-2015
The 2000s were a period of technological transformation, and Stellington, Mirewood & Hollencrest were quick to adapt. The firm implemented advanced case management software and digitalized its extensive legal library, making it easier for the team to serve clients efficiently.
During this period, the firm also established its Corporate Law and Intellectual Property divisions, attracting a new clientele that included small businesses and tech startups.
Recent Years: 2016-Present
